Professionals

Donald M. Wise

Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Wise has overall responsibility for the formulation and successful implementation of North American real estate investment strategies for Metzler’s institutional and private clients.

Mr. Wise brings more than 40 years of real estate experience and leadership to the firm. Prior to joining Metzler in 2003, he held various positions with Unico Properties and JLL. His professional activities include work with the Urban Land Institute and the Association of Foreign Investors in Real Estate.

Mr. Wise holds a BS in Civil Engineering from Iowa State University and a MS in Civil Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology.

Steven A. Franceschina

President & Chief Operating Officer

Mr. Franceschina oversees Metzler’s business operations, client relations and the performance of the firm's real estate assets under management, currently valued in excess of USD 5.2 billion.

Prior to joining Metzler in 2005, Mr. Franceschina held leadership positions in various regional real estate firms including Martin Smith Inc, Sabey Corporation and Schnitzer Northwest. His responsibilities included oversight of an 8.5-million-square-foot portfolio of office and industrial properties.

Mr. Franceschina is active in several professional organizations including the Urban Land Institute, AFIRE, and NAIOP.

Mr. Franceschina is a graduate of the University of Washington and holds professional designations of Certified Property Manager and Certified Commercial Investment Member.

Zeb Bradford

Chief Investment Officer

Mr. Bradford is responsible for Metzler's overall investment activities and is based at the firm’s office in Atlanta, Georgia.

Prior to joining Metzler, Mr. Bradford was Vice President of Acquisitions with Jamestown, Germany's largest closed-end fund. Previously he was Acquisitions Officer with TMW Real Estate Advisors.

Mr. Bradford is a regular speaker for organizations such as Private Equity Real Estate, the Association of Foreign Investors in Real Estate, Expo Real, Urban Land Institute, and the National Association of Real Estate Investment Managers.

Mr. Bradford received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Boston University.

Lola M. Fontana

Chief Accounting Officer

As Chief Accounting Officer, Lola Fontana is responsible for the financial operations of Metzler, its related affiliates, and managed portfolios. During her 20-year tenure, she employed new technologies and successfully established the financial reporting platform utilized across geographic regions.  She also holds responsibility for human resource and benefits administration.

Ms. Fontana graduated summa cum laude from Seattle University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting and worked in both public accounting and private industry for over ten years prior to joining Metzler. She is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in Washington State and an active member of the Washington State Society of CPAs and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Matthew G. Arnoldy

Senior Asset Manager

Mr. Arnoldy joined Metzler in 2012 and leads the leasing, capital and operational management of the firm’s separate account client assets located in the Central region of the country.

Mr. Arnoldy began his real estate career in 2006 as a leasing broker focused on industrial properties in the Seattle market.  He is an active member of the Urban Land Institute and serves on the Board of Third Millennium Alliance, a conservation non-profit based in Ecuador.

Mr. Arnoldy received a Master of Business Administration from the University of Washington and a Bachelor’s Degree from Cornell University.

Beau D. August

Senior Asset Manager

Mr. August is responsible for the day-to-day asset management of a portfolio of institutional assets on behalf of the largest open-ended real estate fund in Germany. He also led the Metzler US Real Estate Fund and the Metzler North American Partners Fund.

Mr. August has more than 15 years of real estate investment experience. Prior to joining Metzler, Mr. August served as an accountant with the Trammell Crow Company.

Mr. August is involved with the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties and is an advocate of Seattle’s Youth Care program.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Information Systems and MBA from the University of Washington.

Ben Blakeley

Acquisitions Officer

Mr. Blakeley joined Metzler’s Atlanta office in 2007 and is responsible for the firm’s underwriting and due diligence efforts for East Coast acquisitions and dispositions.

Prior to joining Metzler, Mr. Blakeley was Vice President with Julian LeCraw & Co., and was part of the firm’s Finance and Acquisitions division. He also served as a Senior Consultant with Ernst & Young LLP.

Mr. Blakeley is involved with the Urban Land Institute and the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Davidson College and a Master of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Tennessee.

Stuart Gordon

Senior Asset Manager

Mr. Gordon leads the leasing, capital and operational management on behalf of Metzler’s separate account clients for assets located in the West Coast and Chicago markets.

Prior to joining Metzler in 2011, Mr. Gordon originated small balance commercial real estate mortgages in the Pacific Northwest and Chicago for Countrywide Commercial and Washington Mutual.

Mr. Gordon is active in the Urban Land Institute and has held several local and national leadership positions with NAIOP, the Commercial Real Estate Development Association.

Mr. Gordon holds a Master of Science in Real Estate and Bachelor of Arts in Economics degree from the University of Washington.

James B. Ives

Director Architecture

Mr. Ives responsibilities include site analysis, project implementation and management, oversight of all development and major redevelopment projects and oversight of Metzler’s sustainability initiatives.

Prior to joining Metzler, Mr. Ives was a Senior Project Manager with G2 Architecture, responsible for the design and development of large commercial office developments and tenant improvement projects for high-technology clients.

Mr. Ives received a Bachelor of Architecture and a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Studies from Washington State University. He also participated in an International Study of Architecture and Planning at the Danish Institute in Copenhagen, Denmark.

William Jaquier

Brian Moosburner

Investment Officer

As Investment Officer, Mr. Moosburner provides financial and transactional expertise on behalf of Metzler’s clients. He is also responsible for market research in support of investment and asset management decision making activities.

Prior to joining Metzler in 2005, Mr. Moosburner was a Senior Acquisitions Analyst for Clarion Partners following his time as a Project Analyst for the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco.

Mr. Moosburner is a member of the Urban Land Institute and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

He is a graduate of the University of Washington with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and a concentration in Information Systems.

Carol O. Morales

Nathan L. Olmeim

Senior Project Manager

Mr. Olmeim manages physical due diligence of acquisitions, coordinates ongoing development projects, oversees all capital projects from concept to closeout, and implements portfolio wide building maintenance programs.

After receiving a Bachelor’s degree from Western Washington University, Mr. Olmeim spent several years working for a prominent Seattle area general contractor, managing a wide range of construction projects.  He then obtained a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Washington and went on to work as a development manager for both regional and national real estate developers before joining Metzler.

Matthew G. Paddock

Senior Managing Director

As Senior Managing Director, Mr. Paddock is responsible for West Coast acquisitions and dispositions on behalf of Metzler’s separate account clients and Metzler’s US Real Estate Funds.

Prior to re-joining Metzler in 2005, Mr. Paddock was with Kennedy Associates Real Estate Counsel, Inc., where he managed a large portfolio of office and industrial assets in major US markets.

Mr. Paddock is active in ULI, AFIRE, and NAIOP. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Alliance for Education in support of Seattle Public Schools.

Mr. Paddock received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Bowling Green State University.
